|| UPASANA ||

" O Lord ! Keep us away from the sins . Praising Thee in many ways , we bow unto Thee . " ( Shukl Yajur Veda V-36 )

" May all crooked stratagems be abandoned , and may Thou alone be our shield and sword . "

Upasana literally means

" to make the mind sit close to GOD . "

In other words , Upasana is the name given to that state of mind when the idea of GOD penetrates every pore of the body , the mind is saturated with Divine nectar and the heart is filled with ecstasy .

There are three stages ( of Upasana ) :—

( I ) to become wet and cool like a stone slab in the Ganges , as long as it is in the water ,

( II ) to be drenched with water , within and without like a doll of cloth ( even when it is outside water ) , and

( III ) to be one with the Ganges ( like the solution of a piece of sugar-candy therein ) .

Sometimes devotional songs , meditation , prayer and search after GOD are also called Upasana . In simple words , to remember GOD is Upasana .

Take care " not to forget ( GOD ) , while seeing , hearing , touching , smelling , eating , walking , sleeping , breathing , talking , holding anything , giving , taking , opening and shutting your eyes " ( Bhg . Gita 8-9 ) .

Immutable Law : Readers ! There is no use of saying too many things ! Only one will suffice . Test it by bringing it into your own practical life . If it does not prove to be correct , you may cut off the hands of the writer and take out the tongue . But please first listen to it attentively with open ears , and study it with unprejudiced mind .

Dear Reader ! It may be possible not to fall into the well , if you jump into it , but it is never possible to be saved from sufferings , if you fall a victim to worldly desires .

It is rather possible that the sun may rise and not diffuse light , but it is impossible not to have power and prosperity if your hearts are filled with sacred ideas and divine happiness . They are bound to dance to your tune , once you rise above desires and delve deep in GODliness .

Announce it by beat of drum from the top of a minaret :—

" It is Truth and not falsehood that triumphs "

( Manduk Upanishad III 1.6 )

" Truth , Knowledge , and Infinity is Brahma "

( Taitriya Upanishad II 1.1 )
